Everyday we would get the question "How can I put my Google Slide on screen?" so we decided to make it really simple!

Getting Started

You can now easily share your beautiful google slides through Screenfluence.

1. Create a Google Slide

2. Publish to the web

In order to show the google slide in full screen, you'll need to publish the presentation to the web.

3. Publish settings

If you have multiple slides, you will need to choose the timing for each slide. You also need to set the slideshow to start as soon as the player loads.

4. Copy link

Copy the link that is generated. You will need this for the Screenfluence web portal.

5. New Smart Asset

Create a new Google Slide Smart Asset

6. Paste The Google Slides Link

Paste the google slides link that was copied when you published to web.

If all goes well you should see the new Google Slide in your Library.

Getting Started

Like all Smart Assets, the Website asset can be found under the Smart Asset navigator.

Once you've selected Website, a modal will open with the required fields, such as name, and URL.

The Website only accepts URLs that begin with http:// or https://

Scrolling

If the web page content you want to display is below the field, just enter a pixel amount to scroll down by in order to show what you want.

Scripting

If the web page content you want to show is hidden behind an authentication form, or requires in-page navigation, you can always use our custom scripting feature.

To enable scripting, toggle the 'Run Script' field. A field will appear which allows the user to enter a custom script that can be run once the page loads on the player.

Functions

All functions must end with a semi-colon, and all text arguments should be entered in quotations: function("argument");

• wait (arguments: quantity of seconds:integer)
  This function will make the script wait for a determined amount of time as set by the first argument.
  Example: wait(5);

• click (arguments: element)
  This function will select an element like a button input and click.
  Example: click(/html/body/input[3]);

• type (arguments: text, element)
  This function will write whatever the text is into the selected field element.
  Example: type("/html/body/input[1]","user@email.com");

• refresh (arguments: none)
  This function will re-load the page.
  Example: refresh();

Selecting Elements

The element argument takes either the id, unique class, name, or Xpath of the html element.

1. Id: #email
   Example: type(“#email”, “text@gmail.com”)

2. Class: .email
   Example: type(“.email”, “text@gmail.com”)

3. Full xpath: /html/body/div/form/span/section/div/input
   Example: type(“/html/body/div/form/span/section/div/input”,“text@gmail.com”)

In order to find an elements Full xpath, hover your mouse over the desired element, right click, and select Inspect. This will open the Elements tab of the Inspector. You will see the desired element's HTML highlighted. Right click the HTML element, select copy, and then select "Copy full XPath".

If your identity provider is Azure Active Directory, the following instructions will allow you to make the required configurations on your side, before a Screenfluence sales engineer can enable your account for SSO.

Add Application to Azure AD

Log in to the portal.azure.com with the account for the organization you will be connecting.

1. Select Azure Active Directory

2. Click on Create a tenant

3. Click on Enterprise applications

4. Choose New Application

5. Click on Create your own application

6. Input the name you want for this application and click Create at the bottom. Then wait a few minutes for auto redirect:

Adding Single Sign On

7. Choose Single sign-on.

8. Select the SAML option.

9. Click Edit on the Basic SAML Configuration.

10. Inside the Basic SAML Configuration, first enter your Identifier (Entity ID). The URL will be https://app.screenfluence.com/auth/sso/metadata/{org-slug}. Then enter the Reply URL (Assertion Consumer Service URL) which will be   https://app.screenfluence.com/auth/sso/metadata/{org-slug}.

Each organization in screenfluence has a URL-safe name. This {org-slug} can be found by logging in to screenfluence and navigating to Account. Directly below the name of your organization will be the org-slug.

11. Setup Claims

Change the Primary Key as below:

Then create 2 new claims as below:

Then input fname in the Name field and select the option user.givenname.

Set up another claim. This one will be input lname in the Name field and select the option user.surname.

Values required by Screenfluence

Screenfluence requires 3 values in order to complete the process to enable SSO for your organization.

• X.509 Certificate Fingerprint
• SSO URL (Identity Provider Single Sign-On URL)
• Issuer (Identity Provider Issuer)

12. In order to get the X.509 Certificate Fingerprint first download the Certificate.

Your certificate should look like this:

Copy all the text and go to https://www.samltool.com/fingerprint.php

Make sure to Select sha256 and then calculate the fingerprint. Save the Formatted Fingerprint for later. You will need to send this to Screenfluence.

In Azure, the two other required values can be found here:

Please send the Issuer, SSO URL, and Certificate Fingerprint to your Screenfluence point of contact and SSO will be enabled shortly thereafter.

If your identity provider is Okta, the following instructions will allow you to make the required configurations on your side, before a Screenfluence sales engineer can enable your account for SSO.

Add Application to Okta

Go to your custom Okta domain at <domain>.okta.com and log in.

1. Select Admin.

3. Select Applications, then "Add Application"

4. Select "SAML 2.0" and click Create.

5. Choose a name for the application and logo as it will show in Okta. Then click Next.

6. Enter the following SAML 2.0 settings

• Single sign on URL: https://app.screenfluence.com/auth/sso/consume/{org_slug} (the org_slug is the internal name we have for your organization)
• Check the box titled "Use this for Recipient URL and Destination URL
• Audience URI (SP Entity ID): https://app.screenfluence.com/auth/sso/metadata/{org_slug}
• Press "Next"

• Select "I'm an Okta customer adding an internal app" and click "Finish"

At this point you have created the application on Okta. Now it's time to assign okta users to the application.

Assign Okta users to Screenfluence

At this point, you will need to select the users on Okta that will have access to Screenfluence.

• Click on the "Assignments" tab.
• Click on "Assign"

Repeat the process with every user who requires access to Screenfluence. Multiple users can be imported via CSV file. You can refer to Okta for further information on how to add multiple users.

Screenfluence Configuration

In order to complete the setup, you will need to collect the following information:

• Go to the tab titled "Sign On"
• Click on "View Setup Instructions"

On this page you will see the 3 pieces of information you will need to provide to Screenfluence:

• Identity Provider Single Sign-On URL: this should be entered into the field titled SSO URL on Screenfluence
• Identity Provider Issuer: this should be entered into the field titled Issuer on Screenfluence
• X.509 Certificate: this is your X.509 certificate. DO NOT send this to Screenfluence. First calculate the SHA-256 Fingerprint. An online tool that can be used can be found here: https://www.samltool.com/fingerprint.php
• Make sure to Select SHA-256 and then calculate the fingerprint.
• The value you need to enter into the field titled Fingerprint on Screenfluence is the formatted fingerprint. This should look like a string that is formatted with a series of 256 characters that looks like CF:29:E0......93:95:F7

At this point you can call Screenfluence Support to finalize your SSO configuration.

Looking to use your Powerpoint presentations for your digital signage? Here's a quick breakdown of the different ways to do it. Once you've got your content exported, all you need to do is drag and drop your content into your Screenfluence library and start displaying!

MAC OS

Export your presentation as a video

Beginning with PowerPoint for Microsoft 365 for Mac version 16.19.

1. Click File > Export.
2. On the File Format menu, select the video format that you want (MP4 or MOV).
3. Select the video quality you want: Presentation Quality, Internet Quality, or Low Quality. The higher the video quality, the larger the file size.
4. If you have recorded timings and want to use them in the video you create from your presentation, make sure the box next to Use Recorded Timings and Narrations is checked. You can also choose to set the amount of time the video will spend on each slide if you don't have a set timing.
5. When you've made all your selections, choose Export.

Note: When you export your presentation as a video, any narrated audio that was recorded in Slide Show will play, but other embedded media files won't play.

After you've saved your presentation as a video, you can share it just as you would any other video, by using applications or devices that can open and play videos.

Export your slides as pictures

You can save one or more slides as pictures so that the recipient can view the slides in any application or device that works with pictures. Just make sure that you choose a picture format that the application or device can open.

Note: When your slides are converted to picture files, any transitions, animations, movies, or audio are removed from the presentation.

1. Click File > Export.
2. On the File Format menu, select the picture format that you want, such as JPEG or PNG.
3. Select either Save Every Slide or Save Current Slide Only. You may also enter a size for your slide images in the Width and Height boxes.

If you choose to save every slide, your presentation will be saved as individual image files, one for each slide.

After you save your slides as pictures, you can share them just as you would any other picture file, by using applications or devices that can open pictures.

Export your presentation to PDF format

1. Click File > Export.
2. On the File Format menu, click, PDF.

After you save your slides as a PDF file, you can share them just as you would any other PDF file, by using applications or devices that can open PDF files.

WINDOWS

1. On the File menu, select Save to ensure all your recent work has been saved in PowerPoint presentation format (.pptx).
2. Click File > Export > Create a Video. (Or, on the Recording tab of the ribbon, click Export to Video.)
3. In the first drop-down box under the Create a Video heading, select the video quality you want, which pertains to the resolution of the finished video. The higher the video quality, the larger the file size. (You may want to test them to determine which one meets your needs.)
4. The second drop-down box under the Create a Video heading tells whether your presentation includes narration and timings. (You may switch this setting if you like.) If you haven't recorded timed narration, by default the value is Don't Use Recorded Timings and Narrations.

The default time spent on each slide is 5 seconds. You can change that timing in the Seconds to spend on each slide box. To the right of the box, click the up arrow to increase the duration, or click the down arrow to decrease the duration.

1. If you have recorded a timed narration, by default the value is Use Recorded Timings and Narrations.
2. Click Create Video.
3. In the File name box, enter a file name for the video, browse for the folder that will contain this file, and then click Save.
4. In the Save as type box, choose MPEG-4 Video.

You can track the progress of the video creation by looking at the status bar at the bottom of your screen. The video creation process can take up to several hours depending on the length of the video and the complexity of the presentation.

This whitelist is a complete list of domains required by all screenfluence players past and present, which is why there may be multiple NTP or DNS entries.

Editing Active loops.

Once you have created your Loops and activated your Campaigns, you can use the Loop Editor tool to make ongoing updates to your existing active Loops.

To update an existing loop, use the ‘Loop Editor’ tool found by hovering over the loop with your cursor.

Alternatively, you can switch to the ‘List View,’ and the ‘Edit Loop’ icon will automatically appear alongside the asset.

Click on the ‘Loop Editor’ button to change and edit the assets in your loop.

Don’t forget to save! You will see a prompt that reads ‘Loop asset was successfully updated’.

Pushing Live

Because this loop is already assigned to an active campaign, the changes will automatically appear on your screen within a matter of minutes.

When we started out, most users were interested in creating one or two playlists with a couple of images and video. Since then, we've noticed people adding quite a bit of content, and we coudln't be more excited about it. That's why we've focused on bringing you the expanded library. You'll now be able to Create Folders, and organize and find your content in a simple way. Read More

While Folders can help find what you're looking for, nothing quite replaces the search feature. That being said, many times you're looking for something by a word that won't be in the title. That's why we've added custom content tagging that is fully searchable. Now every piece of media is #easytofind. Read More

Player Monitoring

When you're managing a digital signage network, it's important to have a feel for how it is performing. That's why we've decided to open up a bunch of our diagnostic player reports. You can now easily see the last time any of your players connected, what files are on it, and how much space is left.

Additional Users

We've built Screenfluence to be managed by one person, but sometimes it's good to delegate others. To help with this we've added the ability to add other users to your organization. The contributor role is perfect for giving access to users whom you only want to submit new content, and not access any existing campaigns.

While Screenfluence can handle all kinds of media formats, there are certain recommendations that we make for users.

Resolution

It's important to remember that your content is typically displaying in a 16:9 aspect ratio. That means that content should generally be in that format. In general, when speaking about resolution, the first number is the width while the second number is the height. When only one number is mentioned, that typically is the height.

Common 16:9 resolutions are:

• 1080p/Full HD - (1920x1080)
• 720p - (1280x720)
• 2560p - (2560x1440)

We recommend all signage content be formatted for 1920x1080 for optimal results.

For special installations requiring 2560p or 4K, please reach out to your screenfluene representative.

Format

While screenfluence can support many video and image formats, we've decided to restrict to the following formats for best network and hardware performance.

• .mp4 (video)
• .webm (video)
• .jpg, .jpeg (image)
• .png (image)

Design

While not a technical note, you should always keep in mind the viewing environment of your audience. Are they far away? Or close by? The distance of your audience will determine the design of your content. You shouldn't make text too small if they are far away, and vice versa, too large if they are very near.

Ready to get your content up on your screens?

Players

Start by selecting ‘Players’ from the navigation bar along the left-hand side of your screen.

You will now see all the players listed on your account.

Each player will be connected to a screen in your network and labelled accordingly, so that you can activate the correct campaign on the desired screen.

To activate a campaign, use the ‘Pencil’ tool located under the ‘ACTION’ column on the right.

A new window will appear prompting you to ‘Edit Player.’

Selecting A Campaign

Using the drop down menu under campaign, select the campaign you would like to activate. Once you have selected your campaign, click ‘SAVE.’

You will automatically be brought back to the Players tab and a message will appear on the bottom right corner noting that your ‘Player was successfully updated.’

Within a matter of minutes, the content will appear on your screen. Repeat this step to activate the same campaign on any player in your network.

You have now completed the activation. Your content or updates will appear on your desired screens shortly.

Once you have your Main Loop chosen, you can now start to scope out specific time slots for other loops to play. We call these "Exceptions".

For example, you run a small coffee shop. Typically you want to bring attention to a few general items such as your Latte, Pre-made Sandwiches, and Deserts. But there are a few opportunities you want to capitalize on:

1. You're located next to a high-school, and find that you get more students walking by between 3:20 PM and 4:30 PM.
2. You find that more people tend to come in for lunch.

You can capitalize on these opportunities by creating a loop for each scenario. For the students that walk-by, you can create a loop targetting them by offering a "Student Special". For the lunch rush, you can create a loop that focuses on lattes, americanos, and espressos, and not waste valuable space/time advertising sandwiches, since that's what they're already here to buy.

Multiple Loops

Now you have 3 different loops.

• Main Loop: focusing on all the variety of products you offer.
• Student Loop: focusing on the student specials
• Lunch Loop: focusing on the lunch crowd already in to buy sandwiches

Campaigns let you easily run all 3 loops on the same player. You can set your Main Loop to always play except on Mondays through Sundays, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, where instead of the Main Loop, it will play the Lunch Loop. You can also set a second exception to play the Student Loop from 3:20 PM to 4:30 PM.

You can create as many exceptions as you'd like, and create as specific a campaign as possible. Once you've created the campaign, you can set as many players as you'd like to follow that campaign.

Exception Overlap

In the case that you have two exceptions that overlap, you can order them top to bottom in terms of what's more important. The exception on top will always take precedence over the exception on the bottom.

The idea behind a campaign is to help you achieve your digital signage objectives. You may have different messages you want to communicate to your audience depending on which screen they are looking at, or even by the date and time. Enter the campaign.

Campaigns let you manage loops, schedules, and exceptions all in one place.

Start by selecting ‘Campaigns’ from the navigation bar along the left side of your screen.

Create A Campaign

To create a New Campaign, click on the Green "Create Campaign" CTA.

You will be prompted to create a name for your Campaign. Enter your Campaign name and click ‘Create Campaign.’

After clicking ‘Create Campaign,’ you will be brought into our campaign creator, where you can select the loops you would like to include.

Main Loop

The first step in creating an effective campaign is to choose the Main Loop. This is the loop that you want your player to play 24/7 by default. Once you have your Main Loop chosen, you can now start to scope out specific time slots for other loops to play. We call these "Exceptions".

In order to select the loops you want to include in your campaign, use the ‘select a loop’ drop down menu on the left side of your screen.

The ‘Select a Loop’ drop down menu will show you all the loops you have created.

You can add additional loops in sequence by using the green "Add Loop" CTA just above the drop down menu.

Each Loop you include will act as your default or main loop, and will continue to play on your screen until an exception is scheduled.

If no exceptions are scheduled, the loops you have selected on the left side will continue to play in sequence, once activated.

After you have finished selecting all the loops you would like to include in your Campaign, click "Save." You will see a prompt in the bottom right corner that says your "Campaign was successfully updated."

You will automatically be taken to the Campaign overview where you can review the Campaign you have just created.

You can create as many campaigns as you’d like. Keep in mind, we have not yet activated this campaign on any players – this will be the last step.

Loops act as content playlist to rotate on your screens. A Loop (also known as a playlist) is a series of assets arranged in an order to play.

Start by selecting ‘Loops’ from the navigation bar along the left side of your screen.

Loops Tab

You will notice that the Loops window looks very similar to your Library, and you will have many of the same features and functionalities here to assist with ongoing management.

To create a New Loop, click on the Green "Create New Loop" CTA located in the upper right-hand corner.

You will be prompted to enter a Loop Name and identify whether your loop will be displayed in landscape or portrait orientation. Hit ‘Save.’ After clicking ‘SAVE,’ you will be brought into our Loop Editor.

You will now be able to select the files you want to include in your Loop.

Populating A Loop

In order to select a file to include in your loop, using the ‘Folder’ toggle next to the ‘Loop Editor’, navigate to where your file is stored in your Library.

Once you have found the file you would like to include in your loop, toggle back to the ‘Loop Editor’ and drag the file into the space provided on the right.

Repeat this step for all assets you would like to include in your Loop. Don’t worry about the order in which you select your assets, you can change them once you have included them in your loop.

Edit Display Time

You can also change how long an asset stays on the screen before switching. There is no minimum or maximum length.

To change the time of a static asset, Click on the ‘seconds’ indicator to the right of the asset, enter your desired length of time and hit ENTER. You cannot change the length of a video.

You can see the entire ‘Running time’ of your playlist at the top of the space provided.

Once you have selected all the files you would like to include in your loop, click ‘SAVE’ in the bottom right-hand corner. You will see a prompt that reads ‘Loop asset was successfully updated’.

After you have saved your Loop, select ‘Loops’ from the left navigation bar to see the Loop you have just created.

Preview Your Loop

After the Loop has been saved, you can preview the loop just created by using the ‘EYE’ icon located in the bottom left corner of the Loop tile.

Repeat this step to create additional loops. You can create as many loops as you’d like.

Search

An important part of any library is finding what you're looking for. To make finding your clips a breeze, we've got several ways to find what you're looking for.

Type - filter by what type of media you're looking for, whether it's instagram, photos, video, or even folders.
Search - by the name, size, duration, upload date, or tags of the asset.
Sort - by the name, size, duration, or upload date of the asset.

Tagging

We mentioned you can search by tags on your assets, so we should probably mention that you can add as many tags as you'd like to your assets to help organize them. In the example below, this image has been tagged with 3 tags in order to help search: "girl", "jeans", and "white-bg"

Views

Sometimes it's better to use different views when looking for assets, so we've provided two different ways to look at your content.

Tile View shows you all your assets as tiles, while List View shows you a more expanded view of each individual asset including more space to see all tags, and a link to the directory where the asset is.

Folders

Folders are critical to any successful content organization strategy. You can create as many folders as you need. It's also another way to look through your asset library.
